Kara works to advocate for policy change for youth in the adult criminal justice system. Working with CLIA’s youth leaders, she educates community members and decision makers on changing policy around how youth are treated in the criminal justice system.
She received a Masters in Social Work at the University of Maryland with a focus on community organizing and policy work. Before coming to CLIA, Kara was a social worker at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, where she worked in the legislative division and handled cases.
Kara enjoys sewing and crafting during her free time.
