Matt is a creative director and minority partner at idfive, an integrated marketing and advertising agency. A former Baltimore City Public Schools teacher, Matt applies educational principles to marketing strategy and views advertising as the ultimate teachable moment. His love of his hometown of Baltimore—and his belief in the promise of the city’s youth—are what drew him to CLIA.
He holds undergraduate degrees in English and mass communications from Towson University and a master’s degree in teaching from the Johns Hopkins University. He has contributed to publications including the Baltimore Sun and Advertising Age, and co-authored University X, a business book on marketing in higher education.
Matt sits on the board of directors of the American Advertising Federation’s Baltimore chapter where he chairs the college outreach committee and is an adjunct professor in the joint MBA/MA Design Leadership program offered by Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and MICA. He is also actively involved in volunteering, marketing and fundraising efforts at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS).
