THE HON. ANDRE DAVIS
Judge Davis sits as a Senior Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He was nominated by President Barack Obama and was confirmed by the United States Senate in 2009. Prior to sitting as a judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals, Judge Davis served as a judge for the United States District Court for the District of Maryland for 14 years. He was appointed to this position by President Bill Clinton in 1995. Judge Davis became a judge in 1987, when he was appointed to be an associate judge for the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City.
Judge Davis is a founding board member of Community Law in Action. He has also served or is serving as a member of the board of numerous professional and community organizations, including the Open Society Institute of Baltimore, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Maryland and the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Alumni Association. He has served as a member of the faculty at the National Judicial College and an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
Judge Davis holds a B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
